Should I Keep Cocks And Hens In Separate Cages?

Just wondering what the pros and cons are of keeping the hens and cocks separate while not breeding. I have seen lots of people keeping them all together, but have read that they can be caged in separate aviaries while not breeding. What do you all think?? And does it really matter one way or the other??

I think it is okay to keep them together but have a set up just in case you need to separate because they decide to breed without a nesting box which can and does happen. Right now here in the US and Canada it is breeding season so it seems that even without a box some of our members cocks and hens are getting frisky with each other and they are way too young.

I keep all my birds together when they're not breeding, I believe it's healthy for my birds to live and communicate within their flock of both males and females. I have three out of five breeding pairs that will breed in the main aviary altogether with absolutely no problems, the other two females I realised ( by the way they would sometimes "chase" and basically hassle out the other birds) that with their personalities would not be okay to breed in the main aviary so they have separate breeding cages. Once they've raised their chicks and the chicks are taken out of the breeding cage I give them a few weeks to recover and renew the nutritional supplies they've lost, then back into the aviary :P
