Hi everyone.

I love your site, I am new to owning Budgies and have found lots of great stuff here, a little about me, I have never been a big bird fan but my partner bought me a beautiful budgie a few months ago and I fell in love with him so I decided to get him a friend and now I have 6, Tiger, Lilly, Louis, Lex, Piccy and Mona.

I am still learning but am hoping to breed them soon.

I will post some photos when I work out how to do it :P

okay I think I have it worked out, Ill start with 1 photo of all of my birds. starting from left to right they are Piccy, Louis, Lilly, Mona, Lex and Tiger, Tiger is the 1st one I got and Lilly is the one I got for a mate and well they just grew from there..hehe.2006_0428_budgies20076_450x337.jpg

Thanks all :P I can see why so many people have budgies now, I spend most of my day sitting outside watching them, I cant believe how different there personality's are..hehe. Mona is a real bossy boots...hehe, my horses are starting to feel left out I think..

Just a ? though, does anyone know how to make the seed treat thingys that you hang in the cage, my birds love them.

Welcome! I share your passion for them. I got 2 in January and 5 months later I'm up to 11 - all indoors.

I think Mona is going to be a boy :(

Hey all

I went to a garage sale today and guess what I found.... 2 Budgies.... I felt so sorry for them, there cages I think had never been cleaned and I'm not sure if they have ever been given anything other than crappy bird seed so I just had to buy them and bring them to my happy birdy home.

The yellow one is a big bitter as you can see but she is so sweet, the other is so calm and sweet. As yet I haven't thought of names for these two ladies so if you have any suggestions :offtopic:

Oh I also joined the local bird club, I'm so excited cause I didn't know we even had a local bird club.

:offtopic: Good you joined the local bird club, I am sure there are many senior members that will be more than happy to help out. Also so happy you bought the budgies at the garage sale, how STUPID can people be!! Can't download all the pictures but they don't look in all that bad shape, hopefully you can trash the cages they were in (unless they are restorable) and start feeding them proper foods, vegetables, etc. Remember to keep them away from your other birds for a month (read posts on quarantine, you really don't know what health issues these poor budgies might have). Good Luck to you and Lucy and Lacey come to mind. :wub: Oh, and you might want to start a new post on your garage sale budgies as they are a whole new ball game from your first post.
