when i was on hoilday i had someonr looking after the babys when i got back they had pooy clumps on there feet tails and limbs how should i remove them?or should i?i clean the nest boxes out everyday sop they are nice and clean :)

Depends on the age of the budgie I think as to how much cleaning they can take. From 2-3 weeks on is okay I think. If really poopy, I just get warm but not too hot water and a washcloth, and gently wash the poopy feet, and other parts with the cloth until clean. No immersion in water, just the damp to wet cloth is enough. You have to be careful and support the feet and legs and everything. Also new baby budgies can lose thier new feathers easily if you are tempted to pick away at the mucky areas. So gently, gently is the way. Also not allowing them to get cold or too wet. I then dry gently and put them back into warm wood shavings bedding. Hope this helps :)

I would use a qtip with warm water, and in a rolling type motion, i would wipe their feet etc. That worked well with my babies.

I did this as well when Bobby was sick, he hates a bath so I washed his feet and body like that, and it worked a treat! We call them cotton buds over here, so I hope we are talking about the same thing... a little stick with bits of cotton wool rolled onto the end??? :)

:D Yes Riebie, those are qtips. :)

I'd definately get it off because dried poop can cause lots of problems, it is like cement when it is stuck around their legs/feet and dries, I think it would be very uncomfortable and not good for their limbs/joints.

okay cool thanks everyone so today the little babes are going to have a little feetsy clean
