Posted April 24, 200619 yr Cobalt blue? I just want to ask because he is such a deep blue. It is hard with the camera to see what I see. With Pretty it was simpler. I am asking you think violet or mauve or simply a deep cobalt Here is pretty close to what I can see.
April 24, 200619 yr Well he's not a mauve, i'm not sure whether he's cobalt or violet... Edited April 24, 200619 yr by Bea
April 24, 200619 yr Author Yes I threw that out there but didn't think it either because he doesn't have the greyish blue look...so I was thinking just a deep colbat or violet possible?
April 24, 200619 yr Well, here's a baby violet (right): http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y17/Baby_...13032004008.jpg And Blinkie (cobalt) as a baby: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y17/Baby_...ie/baths019.jpg I kinda think that the last picture of *insert name here* ( )he looks violet like Pat in the first picture... April 24, 200619 yr I think he just might be a cobalt. But in that last one there is a touch of violet look.
April 24, 200619 yr Author Here is another one that helps resemble his coloration I still think the last picture in the first group is the best with his coloration though.
April 24, 200619 yr Author Daz, I think you are right looking at the pictures on this site his coloration is the same as the violet factor they talk about. http://www.geocities.com/budgie-place/p_colors.html#violet In fact he looks like the first 2 that they show. April 24, 200619 yr Author that is just the picture, he has black marking - I see how the flash made a couple look brownish. Didn't notice that until you said it.
April 24, 200619 yr Hi Lovey! I would say you have a Violet Budgie. I have divulged the WBO (World Budgerigar Organization) colour guide in other posts because I find it a great help in the analysis of budgie colour: WBO When in doubt, you should take the colours and put them over a photo of your bird, like this: This is easier to do in cases like this present one (normal budgies), but a bit more difficult in cases were you are trying to determine the colour of a variety where certain degrees of dilution are involved (like cinnamonwing or greywing varieties). I’ve recently made such an analysis for Karen: He's Moulted So Let's Try Again, what is he???? Best regards from Portugal!
April 24, 200619 yr I have a female budgie that most of you described as a visual violet and some a sky violet. This is her and I think you, Lovey called her Vi. Looks the same colour as yours to me
April 24, 200619 yr Author Yep I remember Vi, and I thought of her when I saw him. They could be sibling.
