April 24, 200619 yr Love the aviary! I think if I had one I would paint the inside walls with trees, sky, etc. Do you think it would confuse the birds and they would crash into the walls???
April 24, 200619 yr Author BB- Aww Shawna that would look nice not sure if it would confuse the birds or not
April 24, 200619 yr NERWEN!!! I LOVE IT!!!! So, are you taking Polka? I say you take Polka and Biff! Think about the endless possiabilties youd have to breed with those two pieds..not to mention Polka split to cinnamoin Kirby
April 24, 200619 yr Author Yes I'm gunna take Poka TO get any pids I would need another like them and if I take both (really thinking to do that Daz ) well I can't but them together. But I was thinking even with the normal wing patterns I could get some nice babies with Poka and Berry.
April 24, 200619 yr Wow Nerwen....everyone is giving their budgies away to you...(side note are any on your steal list )
April 24, 200619 yr Author No you would thing to make it easy and just give me them :(Laughing out loud): Edited April 24, 200619 yr by Nerwen

April 24, 200619 yr Now I'm envious and sad!! Why isn't anyone else from Lisbon in this forum..... I would like to get budgies as easy as that!! I'd say: "Beautiful budgie on that picture!", and the person would answer: "Like it, okay, cross the street, come and get it!" Edited April 24, 200619 yr by LusoPeriquito
April 24, 200619 yr sorry LusoPeriquito but Nerwen, Karen and I are luck enough to be with in an hours drive of each other. Some of the others like Lin are on the other side of Australia. 5 to 7 hours by plane. Adam is 2 1/2 hours by plane from me. Una is 3 hours and a long drive from me. So we are not so lucky.

April 25, 200619 yr (Laughing out loud).. im moving to Austrailia when older...just to get some of Karens, Budgiebirds budgies Not to mention everyone elses Nerwen.. what if you took both Polka and Biff, then bred Pie to a hen, and a baby like Echo ( ) or Scuttle to the other? :ausb: Kirby
April 25, 200619 yr Umm Nerwen I have a problem that you might like.. It's clear that Poka is a boy but Biff is a girl. Todays Photo. Oh here's Axel And Merkin ...and we can't forget Poka Edited April 25, 200619 yr by daz
April 25, 200619 yr Author Nerwen.. what if you took both Polka and Biff, then bred Pie to a hen, and a baby like Echo ( ) or Scuttle to the other? I wouldn't put a recessive to an aussy dominant pied (it's hard to break the two genes apart then, and no result like DEC) Pie is the grand-dad of Echo (who is a boy) and Scuttle is leaving me for a new home. I was thinking of matching Poka with Berry and try and find a cute little blue recessive pied for Biff to make another family line. Not sure on that bit yet. Of cuase this is all a year from now sort of thing. What be the problem Daz? Axel and Merkin look like boys to me. (where is Abu? ) Ohhh Poka is such a cutie. With that little green belly. Just to cear up something from my post above I was glad to find out he was a he I have almost same boys to girl ratio in the 'ville (girls rule just) edit to add: I saw your offer daz and I thank you but I had a family getogether planned. My Grandma got to see them all out in the big cage today. She loves me involed with budgies because my granddad's dad had them too. She loves the idea of someone in the family continuing with birds. (my granddad showed chooks) Edited April 25, 200619 yr by Nerwen

Yes Axel and Merkin are males. I am keeping Abu, and either Axel or Merkin or both Don't know yet. I am going to keep a male and female from each clutch. So Poka and Biff will be going. I have enough Pieds. Poka will be split to Cinnamon and Biff is a pure Recessive Pied.
April 25, 200619 yr No you would thing to make it easy and just give me them :(Laughing out loud): Really I think they should
April 25, 200619 yr Author I was so excited yesterday Ringo was playing with my hair again and Marine came over and hopped on my should to nibble at my shirt, like he used to do. and so since Daddy was doing so it was the best place to be in the world and Reep and I think it was Berry..I wasn't moving to double check which blue babie ...joined him. I scared them at one point but been able to put up with the tickling around my neck but the soon returned on their own It was great and what I hoped to happen in a big avary.
April 25, 200619 yr Im also interested in Daz's question Or...who are yuo breeding? Biff to the boys?..(Laughing out loud) Kirby
April 26, 200619 yr Author Are you going to breed them in the aviary Jen or in another location? I can't believe you had to ask that DAZ!!! I don't like colony breeding for myself. and with a miss like Ringo that just LOVES her daddy...well disaster would happen. Plus I got that nice little (big) breeding cage off you. I'm hoping to put Ringo and her future love in there for spring breeding. That is if I can find a grown up male to match with her. As to Breeding with the others it's still all kinda half formed plans. Here are some piccies of them in the cage together: Reep had just had a bath in the drinking water like most of the others. Not the best shot of Ringo: Edited April 26, 200619 yr by Nerwen
April 26, 200619 yr ITS AMAZING NERWEN!!!! I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THE AVIARY! I adore how they all look soooo happy now! And how sweet they pose! To bad Jangles wasnt in the last photo....then youd have all 9 Kirby :
April 26, 200619 yr I love seeing your budgies happy in their new home... adore the piccie of the soggie budgie... that is way cute
April 27, 200619 yr Author Squeaker was missing in the last one too. Jangles is always camera shy at that point he was sitting right up next to the wire to my right, trying to blend into the grey of the cage :(Laughing out loud): Thanks Pixie I hardly even get soggy budgies like that. It was a pitty the others had almost all dried out by then the other babies where looking cute like that too. Edited April 27, 200619 yr by Nerwen
