April 24, 200619 yr Sweet. Can you get a better picture of the wings. I'm still curious about whether or not he is a spangle. Hi, I don't know if this picture will help. If not I will try to get a better picture, that is if he will sit still, (Laughing out loud).
April 24, 200619 yr Better picture. Have any of the experts identified him. He is quite uniquely marked.
April 24, 200619 yr Hi everyone! I can only see the pics posted initially, can’t see the supposed “better picture”… don’t know why?? Still I would say he is a Dominant Pied Light Green Greywing Spangle. Dominant Pied – Because he seems variegated (yellow and green), and he has white in his eyes. Light Green – That seems to be the colour on his belly patches. Greywing – Because his markings are grey. Spangle – Because his Cheek patches are a mix of violet and silvery white. Yet I could be wrong in some of my assessments because the photos were taken using a flash And that changes colours a lot…. I would like to see daylight pics. In general he his just absolutely stunning! What a beautiful buttercup yellow colour he seems to have!
April 25, 200619 yr Hi! I will try to get some daylight pics and post them. If you click on My Pictures at the bottom of the post and then go to the Pets album there are some more pics, not sure if they will help in identifiying him. Thank you for your information. April 26, 200619 yr Someone wanted a photo of his wing(s) to try to identify him without the flash, daylight. Here is a picture, hope it helps... I swear this bird loves the camera. I can stick it in his cage only a few inches away and he poses, (Laughing out loud). Here are some more... Am I cute? Do you like this pose? Hello there! Can I help you? April 26, 200619 yr Someone wanted a photo of his wing(s) to try to identify him without the flash, daylight. Here is a picture, hope it helps... Hi again! I’m the one ho asked for daylight photos. Can you see the difference between the first set of pics and this second one? In the first set, the yellow colour was brighter, the green patches almost didn’t exist, and even his head and wing markings were nowhere to be seen…. And in fact there is one change to make on my previous assessment: Dominant Pied Light Green Greywing Spangle Now I would say: Dominant Pied Dark Green Greywing Spangle. I compared his photos against light and dark green, and considering that the greywing factor causes some dilution to the body colour, I would still say his green patches (and there are few!) are closer to Dark Green: As for the markings on the wings, I got to see this picture: Canadian Ember and although his markings are few, they are in fact grey and the bigger ones do seem to confirm spangle. In sum I would definitely go with: Dominant Pied Dark Green Greywing Spangle. He is an absolute beauty! Send him over please……. can’t blame me just for asking!!
