I dont like the idea of finches though...in a cage.... little own an aviary Kirby I know that i seems cruel but they are allowed to fly around free almost the hole day so I think that it is a good arrangement for now. Oh I love her last poofy pictures, how long have you housed her with the finch? and do they get along well ? They go along very well, almost all the time the finches fly away when she comes to near. They have lived together for about 2 months but this solution isn´t permanent, just until I get my new cage home.

April 13, 200619 yr Just LOVE her, she is so pretty. I know a cockatiel that was housed with a finch and they got along but I don't know if that is what normally happens, you might want to check into it especially with babies involved.
April 14, 200619 yr I'm pretty sure a member here lost some finches by keeping them with a budgie. They did okay for a while but then the budgie attacked the finches. As that baby budgie matures, it's going to go through hormonal changes as well that will likely make it a lot more aggressive towards the finches than it is now. If at all possible, I would purchase another cage immediately and move them. It's a very bad idea to house them together. On top of this, their dietary requirements are different and I can see it being incredibly difficult to keep tabs on this while they're housed together. Furthermore, passerines (finches, canaries, etc.) DO share the same diseases as pscittacines (parrots like our budgies) so there is the danger involved by having not quarantined the new bird even though they're very different species. To make a long story short, I would get these bird separated immediately. Budgies mature very quickly and during adolescence you're a LOT more likely to see problems arise between these birds. The budgie can easily kill the finches. Not only would this be incredibly sad for you, but it's likely to end in very expensive vet bills as well. Now that I'm finished being a ranty annoying worry wart, I have to say that your budgie is absolutely adorable! The finch is very cute too. Edited April 14, 200619 yr by eterri
April 14, 200619 yr Absolutely gorgeous! But I have to agree - you are risking losing the finch in the matter of seconds - that's all it will take. Not to mention the harrassment from the budgie to the finch will get worse, and make the finches life miserable
April 14, 200619 yr awwwwwww really cute but budgies and finches dont go very well budgies and any other bird dont go well...budgies can be very aggresive and damage the finches if i were you i would seperate them
