April 13, 200619 yr try this website it has most plants and edible treats for your birdssafe plants and food goodluck jason thanks, it says mint is okay....now what about catnip?
April 17, 200619 yr I still can't find anything specifically on catnip...but I found something saying that a vet gave it the okay...and another that claimed their parrot acted woozy after smelling the fumes. I think that if catnip was really dangerous to birds, the information would not be so hard to find. There would be something like "never feed catnip to your budgie!" at least SOMEWHERE. So anyway, I offered a leaf to my budgie, Phillip, and he tasted it and HATED it. So I guess I don't have to worry about them eating it. Just thought I would share that info since it's pretty much impossible to find info on it anywhere online.
April 17, 200619 yr I've not heard much about catnip but a good rule of thumb is: When in doubt, call your avian vet (or an avian vet, period). If you can't do that or they don't know, don't feed it to your bird. It's not worth the risk.
