Egg Biscuits

Featured Replies

Posted

Hi there,

My two budgies happily eat greens (spinach, parsley, basil, broccoli, dill etc), seed and millet but will not touch egg mix in any way. Last week I made them up an egg, breadcrumb and parsely mix and changed it daily for a whole week and they never touched it once.

I asked the vet how to get protein in them and he said egg biscuits. I bought some of these and tried putting one in the cage but they ran away from it and acted like it was the scariest thing they have ever seen!! Now I am crumbling it into their seed but my question is this, how much and how often?

Thanks

Natalie

NatalieZ get some huled oats and soak them for an hour in hot water. Let them cool and drain them and mix that in with your egg and biscuit. 1 part of oats to 3 parts egg and biscuit. The soft oats will be coated with the egg and biscuit and the birds will go for the oats and get the taist for the egg mixture. :)

Thanks for your reply. The egg biscuits I have look and smell like sponge fingers. I can easily crumble them above oats. How often and how much should I give them?
