Posted April 11, 200619 yr So his new favorite spot is on my curtian rods of course since now he is fully flighted he can do whatever he wants : - he says to me. He is still finger tamed inspite of everything though so there is no problem. Here is the deal though - we have 2 rods in the our living room - so when I go from one side to the other he goes from one rod to the next, and then when I go in the kitchen he flies in there surveys me and then goes back on the rod where he can watch me in the kitchen. He is a funny bird, he would rather not be perched on my finger but he must know where I am NUTS
April 11, 200619 yr Ha ha ha!!! :(Laughing out loud): Bobby used to sit on the light fitting at our old house and watch us from there, so high and mighty he would cheep his little lungs out, and of course with high ceiling we couldn't reach him! When it was bed time it was so much fun to watch us drag the chair into the lounge room, climb up, reach up to him just for him to fly away and sit on the top of the door or somewhere else out of reach : We just moved house and the new place has only downlight - HA no curtain rods either
April 11, 200619 yr I would love to let all of mine out for flight time, but I'm terrified I'd never get them all back in. They can fly quite well in the cage. My clipped budgies get out, and Sylvester and Tweety (their flights are back). The 'wild' budgies don't. My house has too many danger spots for them. Poor Puddin' flew down behind my washing machine after a couple of days home. Luckily she stepped up onto a perch and I got her out of there. Then in terror she flew onto my clothes after a few swoops. I threw my hands over her and got her back in the cage. She hasn't been out since.
April 11, 200619 yr Author OMG Shawna- that is my fear of getting too many especially in the house, if I could have an ourdoor aviary where I would keep them untamed I would feel more comfortable. Right now he is singing his songs on my curtina rod again
April 11, 200619 yr My mom has 4 and they fly around all the time. She has a much better house layout though. Mine is very open and I can see them heading off in many different directions. I'm seriously thinking about an outdoor aviary but I'm terrified of raccoons or other predators getting them.
April 11, 200619 yr (Laughing out loud)... what a dork that little Pretty is!! I'm sure though he's just making sure his mommy isn't going anywhere without him!
April 11, 200619 yr Author Cheeta you wouldn't think he cared after I have to chase him down Shawna, that would be my concern here too in Ohio - I saw your question did anyone respond to it? (I know off-topic)
April 11, 200619 yr all three of mine love the cutains , and will sit there for hours whittering away to one another. if there not there they play on the windows, i have sash windows so they play on the top of the bottom window. they have now got into the habit of tapping on the window when they see somthing out side. by the way my curtains measure nine foot in height so not so easy to get them down.

(I know off-topic) (Laughing out loud)... Oh Lovey, I'm sure your Pretty just love playing Chasey with his mommy!!! Except you'll always be the 'chaser', and he the 'chasee'!!!
April 11, 200619 yr Pretty's so cute! Blinkie never perches up higher than about my shoulder height...thank god!
April 12, 200619 yr Author he is so much more tame then Pretty, and you are his mate I am just the person who feeds him
April 12, 200619 yr (Laughing out loud)! That's exactly my relationship with Ozzie! :(Laughing out loud):
April 12, 200619 yr Good shot of Pretty Lovey, now you aren't wondering where Pretty is all the time if he hangs out on the curtain rods, hate search parties! (although I do have my routine where I close the bathroom doors)

(although I do have my routine where I close the bathroom doors) Your absolutely right, before I had to have a search party drove me nuts, never knew where the little bugger landed.
April 15, 200619 yr (Laughing out loud) My Squirt would do the same thing, in the kitchen we have 2 large windows with horizontal blinds on them. When it was time to put her away she'd fly back and forth between them, occasionally she'd fly back to her cage. She'd also sometimes hop on your finger and fly off just as you'd be about to put her in the door. The whole time she'd be squawking in a way that you'd swear meant she was laughing at us.

That sounds just like Blinkie but he sits on your head and happy dances while laughing at us.
