Hi all, just wanted to introduce myself and my "flock", my name is Barb, and I have 7 Budgies atm, 4 hens and 3 males of varying colours. I have had budgies at differnet stages of my life, and decided to get into budgies again about 9 months ago. I have had a long wait, finding the colours I wanted to start out with and happily bought my last birds a week ago... now have the wait of quarenteening them and the change of season and then it should be all systems go!

I dont have photos of all my flock atm, but I currently have a voilet opaline cock, skyblue spangle cock, yellow head cobalt cock, lutino hen, skyblue opaline hen, yellow/green pied hen and an olive hen. Hoping for some lovely colours when I finally pair them off after winter!!!!!

I also have a pair of Galahs, who are just plain adorable and a cockateil.

:P

HI there!!! nice to meet you.cant wait to see photos of your birds!

Thanks for the welcome Cheeky and budgiebird.

(Laughing out loud) I realised after I posted that I mentioned the colours of my flock, but didnt mention their names!

I have a "Cheeky" also, he is the yh/cobalt and he looks sorta rainbowed atm.

Rusty is the spangle,

Opal the Violet opaline(we thought he was a she!)

:fear Harry the sb/opaline(another that we got mixed up in the sexes! and she currently shares a cage with Opal)

Sally is the lutino,

Olive is obviously the olive!

and Patches the pied! :ygbudgie:

Hi and welcome. Your in the same area as me and another member. ( I'm sure he would mind me saying but it's his right really)

This is just me but I like to give the correct names to things :P and I might be able to get another interested in genetics and mutations.

Cheeky is called a yellowface. There are two types the first only has yellow on the head the type 2 gets a 'bleed' of yellow into the blue making some feathers look green.

I love this kinds and most of my flock/family are this and they all look different. Spangles are my other fave :fear

We look forward to seeing them all and any babies they have later. Have you plans on who to match to who?

oh and don't worry if the bit above with the colour didn't make any sence to you :D

Ah, I felt at the time that "yellow head" was wrong (Laughing out loud)!

Yes, I am hoping to put Opal and Harry together, Violet opaline and Sky-blue Opaline. Rusty and Patches, Sb Spangle and y/g pied, simply because one of Rusty's parents was pied. Cheeky and Sally, y/f cobalt and lutino... and I would love to get an albino for the Olive hen - my son had an albino male but he(the budgie) died recently and my son(he is 8) doesnt want to "replace" Snow just yet.

aww sorry to hear about snow :fear he might be ready to make one of these ones babies his in the spring.

Rusty and Patches sound like they would have cute babies.

Your birds sound lovely. Looking forward to when you can get photo's.

I had a Snowy once, beautiful boy, loads of personality.

lovely to "meet" you also lovey.

Yes, Patches is actually one of my newer birds. What attracted me to her in the first place is that she looks yellow and green from a distance but up close she is more a cobolt colour :) I mean just above her tail is cobolt, but it shows up as green on her body...hard to explain so I can see I will have to post pics of her (and them all.) So I think putting her with Rusty should result in some interesting little bubba's.

Sally is actually my sons Budgie, he wasnt ready for another Albino, but decided that he wanted the lutino the moment he saw her!
