April 9, 200619 yr Welcome!! You'll learn lots here. Your budgie looks like a cutie. Every budgie is different. Some will finger tame sooner than others. There is great information on the site about taming. Looking forward to hearing more about Casper.
April 9, 200619 yr Hello to you and your feathered friend, let him be his first couple of days so he gets used to his new home, glad he is eating. If you are unsure, you can always put seeds on the floor or a tiny container of water until he gets used to the official containers. :ausb:
April 9, 200619 yr Welcome to you and Casper. I'm sorry to tell you this but he isn't that young at all. I would guess any where from 6 months at the youngest. This doesn't mean he can't be a great pet to you and your family he just might take longer to tame and train.
April 10, 200619 yr He is very sweet, just take time with him he is in a new place just taken away from the only family he has every known. Imagine how you may feel, lonely, sad, and very quiet. But that can and will change with you spending the quality of time he needs. My Pretty was very quiet and he really still isn't that vocal but he has his moments, we have had him for 7 months now and he is starting to break out of his shell more and more . There is allot to learn here so enjoy.

April 17, 200619 yr Sometimes they will react better to perches than fingers (don't know why but they do). Good Luck and try the perch again, better that then chasing them all over.
