Best Way To Get Budgie To Eat Veggies?

Featured Replies

Posted

My new budgie Kiwi doesn't seem to want to eat any fruit or vegetables..He just stares at it when I try to feed it to him and when I leave it on the cage he either leaves it alone or throws it on the floor..

Any tips on how to get him to eat veggies? Any particular vegetables they really like?

Thanks in advance!

:( Hi willow KK, that seems to be a common question which keeps popping up. Go to the food and nutrition section and scroll along the various pages and you will get some good answers and suggestions. :ausb:

Ozzie wouldn't touch veggies until he saw Blinkie eating some too, now (the next day) he's already been scoffing down some brocolli on his own. ;)

Pheobe is right scan through there and even go back 4-5 pages into the forum there are alot of posts about this one.

Persistence! My budgies decided they'd eat celery yesterday - after months and months putting it in the cage with no success. Before, the only thing they would eat other than seed was carrot. Keep trying; they've got to decide in their own time that they're not killer vegies you're offering them.
