I have tried to put one budgie cage on a waist high shelf of a shelving unit I purchased but the budgies involved didn't like it at all. Not a waste of money, I can put all my supplies on that shelf and I now have a dining room table again. Here's what I came up, everybody can see out the patio window at some angle and they all can see me when I am sitting on the couch and they can see each other so I hope they are never bored.

 

From left to right, Coca who lives beside Comet and Buddy,

who live next to Happy and Monty

and to their right is Mango

whose neighbour to the right is Rosey

And across the room we have Phoebe (and she moved when I took her picture)

and to her left is Jodie

And in my bedroom is poor Star, awaiting adoption into a single budgie home.

(But she seems happy enough now , singing to herself and enjoying looking out

the window).

 

So I have done the best I can with my small space and everybody seems happy

with the arrangements.

Looks and sounds good to me. Do they call for one another much?

:ausb: I really envy people that have multiple budgies and can keep them in 1 or 2 large cages. Mine would just start to reproduce or fight to the death. Star is calling and Comet keeps answering her but it goes in fits and starts, it's not constant. I know she doesn't really mind where she is as I was just outside and I could see her head bobbing up and down as she watched me. Yes, I have my dining room table back, yippeeeee!! (Although will still have to get it hauled out into the middle of the living room and move some furniture around if I get company for dinner, hopefully the next place I move into is much bigger). :bluebudgie:

 

Oh yes, and trying to keep them out of line of fire of the motion sensor of the burglar alarm is quite the undertaking as well.

:ausb: Thanks Lovey, have tried to make good use of the space I have (even if it means turning a couple of cages sideways) but this makes it more functional for me, aesthetically pleasing and everybody can look at each other for entertainment. (And not setting off false burglar alarms, that was an expensive lesson). Still have to let everybody out in shifts but the cockatiel is out almost all the time when I am home. :bluebudgie:
