March 27, 200619 yr I wonder if he is a dilute grey - is there such a thing. He really is a fabulous looking bird!!!
March 28, 200619 yr He isn't Platinum. That in fact is a term used in teils. He is either a full body grey wing or a clearwing.
March 28, 200619 yr He isn't Platinum. That in fact is a term used in teils. He is either a full body grey wing or a clearwing. thats what I was thinking
March 28, 200619 yr Not sure about the mutation, but he is gorgeous!!! Platinum would be a perfect name for him though!!!
March 28, 200619 yr He is a Grey Greywing bordering on Dilute. The hint is the cheek patches. As a greywing they should be Violet but they look washed out.(might be the photography) which means they have been dilutes. As a greywing is one of three dilute. He is on the boarder line. I can't see his tail but it should be violet / blue. the Quill should be grey. I can see his markings are grey which are right for a grey wing. He is actually very good. Can't see all of him but he looks a bit short in stance. The mask is good but the blow is not developed... Hows that for a show bird discription
March 29, 200619 yr I'd say he's a greywing mauve, because of his bluish body colour and washed-out violet cheek patches. But it would be useful to see a picture of his tail.
March 29, 200619 yr Now a grey bird has grey patches and a grey wing has violet. What is the dominent gene going to do?
March 29, 200619 yr His tail is a darker grey with a hint of blue..so are his cheek patches. I will try to get some better pics today. Tiana
