I dont understand my birds they are both on the nest box and the females keep on sitting and then getting up and moving around and goin on and checkin out the hole on the nest box?

:ausb: My birds do this when they are sussing out a box to nest in, she might just be making sure that its suitable but being cautious incase there is a boogie monster or something in there :bluebudgie:

They are curious little things and like to make sure everything is in perfect order before they get to the job at hand..

hecka kool but do they get aggressive when they are breeding?

:bluebudgie: My budgies seem to get agressive with their partners at any given times (Laughing out loud) .. the females do seem to get a little shirty with the males when they are nesting..

soo the last time i saw them breeding was like 2 weeks a go and my females feather by her butt are like puff and she is more aggressive i feed my birds letus and eggs everyother day so when do u think she will start to nest??????????????????????????

Normally the hen will spend more time in her box and after 4 days her droppings will begin to change. They will become increasingly wet and copious and at about the tenth day the first egg will appear.

Eggs are laid on alternate days and may vary from 3 to 10 in number, 6 being the average. :bluebudgie: Under normal circumstances the time between laying and hatching is 18 days.
