If i was to label him, what would i call him? to me he is a yellow and white budgie with blue splodges

Maybe i should have asked this question in the genetics etc forum :budgiedance: Oh Bold and the Beautifuls on, better scoot :P

Cheers

Una

well I would call him a recessive pied sky blue and super cute cute cute!!

if you wish or i can move this for you :budgiedance:

I'll tell you soon just want lovey to look again and think about it.

 He is rather sweet, i love how he has white splodges on him too in places :budgiedance:

*taps fingers... Hurry Up Lovey... :ausb: Im keen to know what he is...

Nerwen, I just love how you make me see detail and think about it. Thank you!!

 but I am looking and looking and still thinking

1. recessive pied

2. double factor pied

3. Spangle pied (it looks like he may have some spangling on the coming in flight feather) but not sure if that mutation is possible

Give me a hint... :fear (Una I know it will drive you nuts but I LOVE to figure stuff out) :fear

I would say recessive pied too, so maybe Nerwen doesn't think sky blue? Do you use the main colour or the pied colour to name them?

Lin, you are right that is the direction she is taking me.

You can label them with coloring but if this is a yellow based bird then it can't be a sky blue - that would only be on a white based bird. Because yellow and blue make green . So hoping I am on the right track, it would be a yellow/green recessive pied????

your closer now Lovey  At lest you have realised that the yellow on it means the first bit was wrong.

Your right with the recessive pied bit.

 Ner ner ner ner nerrrrrrrrrr! I know what he isss :) heheee Just thought id share that much without giving too much away :D :(Laughing out loud):

okay, I think I need a hint....

Double factor Spangle???....but I don't see the iris ring???

Don't tell me...

:D I am leaving here for a couple hours so give me a hint.

Una...(Laughing out loud) I have gone through every color of the mutation.

The only thing I can see in the mutations that is sort of similar is fallow but they have red eyes, he doesn't look like he has red eyes and his rump is not diluted. Or possible opaline but that is a guess and if is right I wouldn't know why.

I'm I going to hit myself in the head when I figure it out

I have no idea, but can I ask what the black spots mean?

well I believe the spots are from the recessive pied gene

Thanks! I will understand all this one day!

oh but don't take my word for it Lin, I can't figure out this budgie :)
