I made a post a few weeks ago, about our budgie Chico who was sick at the time. After a visit to the vets, he was suspected with mites. We was given a liquid treatment, where you put a drop on his back. Unfortunately he was just getting worse and yesterday he appeared to be constipated. He was straining and just couldn`t go, and you could see he was in pain.

 

Another trip to the vets, and they ran some test. We actually left him there overnight so they could watch him. This morning we called, and they suspect he has stomach cancer I believe they will put him out of his suffering today

 

Our other budgie is rather quiet at home of course, but we`re making sure someone his close to him as much as possible rather than leave him alone. Rather than get another bird(s) we`ve decided to find a good home for him. Preferably someone who breeds birds or has averies so he can be with other birds.

 

We`re always moving due to work, and it`s just not fair on them.

 

Now the hard part of find someone in our local area who can take them. We have one budgie and three zebra finches who are all healthy.

Oh i'm really sorry about Chico. I hope you find a nice home for your other budgie.

you are in a tough position, and I commend you for doing what is best for your flock. I am so sorry to hear about Chico, and know he will be in peace. I wish you the best in finding a suitable home, if you go into I believe rescue I posted an article about giving up your birds and how to go about it. I found it very beneficial. Keep us updated.

What sad news... Take peace in knowing Chico will now be happy and painfree flying over the rainbow bridge and i also commend you on your decision to find your other budgie a new loving home, It would have been a hard call to make but i'm sure you have made the right decision
