Edited by Rainbow

That is definately breeding behaviour!...

I think that the babies will be mostly greens as green is a dominant colour right?....They will have spangles as it is dominant gene, and they might have clearwings or whatever Yoki is...

Good luck, her overeating on the iodine block just means that she wants more viatmins, and possibly that she knows she needs more since she is an experienced breeder hen....

post more pics of their progress!...as well as the aviary setup!..id like to see in indoor shelter part....(Laughing out loud)

how long does it take for them to lay? nine days from mating to the first egg, could be a bit longer for first time parents

any other beahavior to look for? yes the mouting sould increase and she will start to inspect the box.

she is eating iodine so much!is this somthing to do with the breeding? yes as kirby said. Or it just might be the easiest thing in the cage to chew, females chewing on bark and toys is a sign of breeding behaviour as well.

she has, egg food ,oats ,fresh veg, iodine block, cuttle fish freash water and vitamen drops is there somthing I should add to her diet? No that all sound good.

good luck Smilyl If your male is split or blue you will get half of green half of blues. Also you will get half spangles and half normals. You will only get clearwings if your hen is split for it.

thank you nerwen!thats really good to now couse she loves chewing stuff the enternce to the inside area the iodine block her woden toys the sliding doors of the nest boxses

(not the birds one the one you use to open close)and lots of other things like that :D

it's good to hear her chewing at the entrance, Tootie did that for a few days then entered it and didn't look back from there

Any new news Smilyl???
