Posted March 10, 200619 yr I went back to one of my favourite breeders today just for a little look-see. This is the breeder where I got Casper and Spook, Ming and Bao, Diesel and Bubblegum. Always very healthy birds with no troubles and usually good natured as well. Came home with five new budgies. All have names, but I am not sure of one of the colours....maybe someone can help me out there. There is a 5 week old yellow face type 2 blue ? female ? named LOVEY after forum member LOVEY, Diesels brother almost the same mauve spangle named ROCKET, A gorgeous grey green opaline boy ( related to Spook the grey opaline and this ones parents were mother lutino and father grey green pied ) named ZORRO, a sky blue spangle boy named ASTRO, and a very very pale grey male whatever ?????? named SMOKY. Would he be a dilute ? Astro Lovey Zorro Smokey Rocket Edited March 11, 200619 yr by Nerwen
March 10, 200619 yr Oh thank you I feel honored :hap: Smokey is a Spangle (like Bea's Blinks) Astro is awesome, I love him!! does he have light blue around his neck too? Nerwen or whomever what would be his mutation? Don't want to guess wrong, I have thoughts in my head Rocket..looks just like his brother, such a handsome fellow Zorro is an awesome color Lovey well of course is beautiful Congrats!!
March 10, 200619 yr Oh my... Funny how those looksy at the breeder turn out to be with going home with new birds!! Your new birds are just beautiful!!! I just love Smoky's colour!! :hap: beautiful!!
March 10, 200619 yr Author Was really very coincidental too that I went with a very large budgie cage in the back of my ute :hap: .......and Ken knows me so well.....all he asked was "what are their names?"
March 10, 200619 yr (Laughing out loud).. yeah, very coindental that was... Just as well Ken is a nice enough guy about it all!!! (Laughing out loud)
March 10, 200619 yr The 2 on the bottom? The light one is a grey the check patches are grey but not sure if he is considered a dilute and clearwing? Waiting for expert advice The other one next to it is a mauve spangle gorgeous
March 10, 200619 yr there so cut i got a bit confuesed witch ones witch though love the yellow faced blue baby
March 10, 200619 yr I think he's a dilute Lovey -- his body color is so light.. but I'm not certain. I've heard people referring to whitewings before (??) They're all beautiful.. but I absolutely LOVE Smokey :) Rocket is great too.. I think he may be a violet spangle - it looks like he has a couple purple tailfeathers.
March 10, 200619 yr Is it possible to go "just for a little look see" (Laughing out loud) I know I CANT! Beautiful birds!
March 11, 200619 yr Beautiful birds. I envy them, I wish i could move into the aviary too.. Would i fit in the cage in the back of the ute? :ausb:
March 11, 200619 yr Budgiebird I just edited to give names to the picture to help people (even I was getting confused :ausb:) I must say a very big welcome to Rocket. Yes he is my favourite Must get to perth and steal him Smokey looks like a dilute to me, the body colour is reduced alot compaired to a normal grey. Hurdy whitewing is a name for a blue clearwing. Is it just me or has does it look as if astro has eyeliner on? :(Laughing out loud): They are all great, but are you sure Lovey is a girl? Looks like a boy to me in the picture Edited March 11, 200619 yr by Nerwen
March 11, 200619 yr I can't be a BOY :hap::, yes Astro looks like he has eyeliner on, I LOVE him... Check out this link they call it a white grey or blue series dilute for Smokey http://www.budgerigars.co.uk/general/ident3.html Then Hurdy, on this link is a violet whitewing http://www.budgerigars.co.uk/general/ident2.html Edited March 11, 200619 yr by lovey
March 11, 200619 yr :(Laughing out loud): Looking again I think Smokey is a spangle too. Edited March 11, 200619 yr by Nerwen
March 11, 200619 yr Nerwen that isn't crazy, I thought the same thing too, but I wasn't sure felt silly putting it down. But I noticed the spangle marking.

Astro has beee-ootiful eyes....kinda Sophia Loren type almond shaped eyes. Could be an oriental budgie ?? Well there are "english" ones and "american" ones aren't there ? Smoky must be a dilute as his body colour is almost not there at all...shows darker in the photo than it really is. I am definitely NOT sure that Lovey is a girl. I may not have paid enough attention to that when I was there. Does this mean I must go out and find 5 more budgies....all girls ?? Oh thank you I feel honored Smokey is a Spangle (like Bea's Blinks) Astro is awesome, I love him!! does he have light blue around his neck too? Nerwen or whomever what would be his mutation? Quote....Astro is awesome, I love him!! does he have light blue around his neck too? okay I had a look in daylight and Astro has some Blue on the back of his head and also a pied spot too. Some very minor blue bleed into the top section of his wings. Will try for another photo soon.
March 11, 200619 yr I am definitely NOT sure that Lovey is a girl. I may not have paid enough attention to that when I was there. Does this mean I must go out and find 5 more budgies....all girls ?? You had that planed from the start :rip: The head spot is found on all spangles. As tot he blue bit I can see it too but can't see any blue in the wings, so I don't think he is opaline.
March 12, 200619 yr Author With Astro, from my limited knowledge I would say NOT opaline, just some blue on the back of his head near his spot and very minor blue at the top of his wings Edited March 27, 200619 yr by budgiebird
March 13, 200619 yr Yeah I would say not opaline as well there are bar marking in the 'v' shape between the wings. Just slighly odd feathers, Pie as one or two feather with blue edging on his wings, but not opaline.
March 15, 200619 yr Author LOL.. yeah, very coindental that was... Just as well Ken is a nice enough guy about it all!!! LOL Ken gives me a look. Something like the look you have when you see a baby chicken come out of an egg (an Oh so cute look ) and somewhere between that look is one of a You poor thing look. I havent quite figured it out yet, but he thinks everything I do thats not everyone else's "normal" is CUTE !! Hope that lasts forever.

May 5, 200619 yr poor Lovey just like Pretty with a girly girl name I love my namesake, truly he must make the flight with Bubbles, and Custard and all the recessives pieds you have. They say safety in numbers :hap:. Now have this imagine, Tim wakes up 1 morning to see 6 or so budgies flying at the window to be let in (cracking up) :(Laughing out loud):
