I know that I only lost Petrie this morning but my heart was telling me to go out and get a new little baby to join the flock after quarentine. I needed to do this for myself, as well as, for the other members of my family and my remaining flock. She is the smallest little budgie that I have seen in a long time. Here she is:

She has pretty interesting wings.

I will get more tomarrow but I want to let her settle in and get comfy. Any name suggestions for her??

She's very pretty (of course) but I am a bit surprised that you got another so soon. Not because of what you felt toward Petrie, but because of the way she passed. Were/are you able to have a necropsy performed to make sure that she didn't die of some illness that your other birds were exposed to? Or do you have plans to take your birds to an avian vet to be tested? I know that you brought a sick bird home recently that didn't make it. I'm really not trying to be insensitive, I know how difficult it is to lose a pet, but I would hate for you to have to lose another bird if you can avoid it.

Lovely little budgie. I like the yellow on the wing. I'm guessing her flights will be yellow too.

I too am a little worried because this new one seems like a "rebound budgie," just as you wouldn't think that a rebound relationship is very healthy. Although it is too late to let this little one go, I hope that in the future you will give yourself some time to mourn and accept the death of a feathered friend than hurry to replace him/her.

Sweet little one you have there, not being sure if its a him or her id probably call it Princess anyway just because s/he is so pretty, or even Angel :angel1:

Looks boyish that is just me...very very sweet!

I love the dominant pieds they are just gorgeous especially in these colors.

I think that Diva would be a good name for her.

She is absolutely adorable...! I still feel badly for you losing Petrie.

 

You know she looks like a Piper to me....(always loved that name and if I'd realized Buddie was a gal I probably would have picked that for her!)

 

Unless maybe Piper is too close to Petrie?

Just to let everyone know yesterday I had the rest of the flock checked over to make sure that they were all okay and I am happy to say that everyone came home with a clean bill of health!!

 

She has settled down a bit and I was able to get some more pics of her this morning.
