Posted March 7, 200619 yr Today I went to a pet shop just to ask if they don't have a "not flying budgie" as a friend for my Mayo. The lady said they don't have any, but they have a budgie, who's got epilepsy (probably). She said he is there a long time and nobody wants him. I thought poor little guy. Then later I just decided I can't leave him there and I went back and got him I know it's not going to be easy, but I think he'll be happier here then in a shop. Does anyone know something about budgies with epilepsy? That's what the lady said he could have (but she wasn't sure) - she said he looks okay, just sometimes he falls down and shakes for a couple of seconds and then he just gets up and is okay again. But he is here for about 3 hours and didn't do it ones. I'll take him to the vet, once he settles down. Here are some pics. From far, cause I don't want to scare him now I think he is beautiful His name is Diamond Edited March 7, 200619 yr by Zebra

March 7, 200619 yr what a cute little fluffy diamond! adorable! and thumbs up to you for taking on this challenge (if it is going to be one, which i hope it wont)
March 8, 200619 yr What a pretty little guy and good for you for adopting him!! There are bird meds for almost everything and those more knowledgeable about bird pharmacueticals could advise you of this. For sure, they would have to be prescribed by an avian vet. Good Luck with your new little guy!
March 8, 200619 yr oh he is gorgeous, congrats!! I did a quick search and didn't come up with anything, I would make sure the vet you take him is an avian. If he does have it I would assume it is very rare in budgie, since nothing came up on it.

I've searched on google and there were some stories about budgies with epilepsy. I didn't see him fall down since I got him (but I was at work, so I might miss it), he eats and looks okay to me.
