Colour Expectations

HI,

Wondering if someone in the forum can help me out with what Colour babies I can expect with mating a Clearbody cock and a Yellowface Type 2 hen. I was working on the theory the yellowface is the same as normal therefor I would get 50 per cent clearbody and 50 per cent normal. Love to hear from other budgie enthusiasts to learn from their knowledge.

Tks

It dpends if your cock is a blue line or yellow line bird.

But Texas Clearbodies are sex-links so all clearbody babies from this pair will be female, while the males will be split for it. If the male is blue you will get 50% of either yellowfaces or white face blues.

If he is yellow then you will get green males and yellow females (from the clearbody gene) unless he is also split for blue then you will get 50% green, 25% yellowfaces, 25% white face blues.

Tks Nerwen, That is exactly what I was looking for.

Can't wait for breeding season.

Thanks Alan

Tks Daz I have a couple of pairs in mind.

All the bird will be split for the yellow face just like a normal blue.
