Posted March 4, 200619 yr Hi, I was wondering if it was possible for a dominant pied budgie to never get the white ring around their eyes. I'm sure that my budgie is a dominant pied, but yet she has never gotten the white ring on her eyes even though she's well over two. Isn't it only the recessive pieds, lutinos and albinos who's eyes don't change? Here's a couple links to some pictures of her. http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e331/lis...ng/HPIM3128.jpg http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e331/lis...ng/HPIM2932.jpg Edited March 6, 200619 yr by budgieloverlisa
March 7, 200619 yr Maybe it is there but very hard to see? Two of my dominant pieds are also about 2 years old and you have to look very very hard to find the iris. Their eyes remind me of a very young budgie - the ring is more a lighter shade of black than a heavier shade of grey. You only really see it when they pin their eyes. It is easier to see the iris on my DF dominant pied than it is on my two violets. I'll try to do some research on the subject, but there is probably not much out there. Your bird looks like one of mine. (center back of my signature) Edited March 7, 200619 yr by Rainbow
March 7, 200619 yr Author Thank you for your reply. I love your budgies, they're beautiful! Yeah, if I look really close, I think that I can see a really dark ring around the iris, but it's really hard to see. I think I like the look better of having no ring. It makes them look young and cute.
