What Makes It Different?

Well, this first picture I took today, what color would you say she is?

The second picture is a bit older, and this normal green cinnamon budgie was changing her feathers.

If I told you the bird in both pictures is the same, would you believe it?

In fact she really is! So what causes the difference between pictures?

The second one was taken during day time. The first one was taken at night using a flash… and it makes all the difference in the world, because it makes some colors seem much stronger, some feathers look much brighter and others much darker then they really are, in general it disguises the real colors…. I think this is the reason why it is so difficult to identify the colors of some budgies in the “Budgie Mutations, Varieties and Genetics” Board.

What do you think?

oh! i definitely agree.

Cameras really mess around with colors.

Especially when you use the flash. I've noticed that. With all my pictures... of course when I take a picture it doesn't really phase me because my brain kind of sees it all the same since i know my budgies. But to others even the slightest difference is noticeable.

Very very true.

I'm glad you brought this up in a post. Especially with the two different photos

:grbud:

gorgeous budgie, I agree flash makes the difference. I know when I started here they told me to take a picture of Pretty's cere without a flash to see if he was a he or she.
