All The Babies

The aviary is full of pretty feathered babies....every day brings a new surprise. Colourful feathers that weren't there yesterday. A new colour that is a total surprise. It is all very exciting. Breaks the monotony of packing boxes for moving day ( 2 days to go ). I am in and out of the aviary so often that ever patient Ken just rolls his eyes heavenward and when he's feeling cheekier he just locks me in for awhile :hap: In Romeo and juliets nesting box are three almost fully feathered babies....all recessive pieds as are mum and dad. The mostly white ones are looking like a mauve and a violet or purple pied. The mostly yellow one has a batch of feathers beginning on its tummy section that looks jade green. In Bonnie and Clyde's box there are five feathered babies, two spending much of their time hanging out at the front of the box ready to go. Looks like so far a violet opaline, a cobalt blue, one which is mostly white and looks like a recesive pied so far with bright sky blue tummy feathers. The two smaller babies may be normal blues but we need a few more days to see whats what with them. Spook and Casper have three pink babies hatched and three eggs mostly doing nothing at all so far. Casper, the dad is in and out of the box feeding his babies too just as he was sitting on the eggs to hatch them ( must be in touch with his feminine side :hap: ). Kermit is sitting high on a mound of 8 eggs and seems to have stopped laying more (thank goodness :fear )....fathers could be any or all of three...Romeo, Bubblegum and Jimmy. Skye and Bubblegum have one hatched out and two more eggs (maybe I should put a couple of Kermits under Skye). Hotlips and Radar have seven eggs too. So, it's all fun in the budgie haven. Moving day is scary as I embark on a new life with Ken. He has just asked me to marry him when we move and not to wait anymore....so there's that to look forward to. We met on an internet dating thingy RSVP about 16 months ago and never looked back. He is a beautiful man through and through. So, just sharing some trivia with you guys late at night after a weary day of packing boxes and the highlights of the budgies which always make me happy. Nite to some and good morning to others :D:D :budgiedance:

I want pictures (Laughing out loud), I can just imagine the beauty. Ken is an awesome guy to enjoy your love for your budgies - congrats on your engagement!!! You rmove will go perfectly just keep thinking that.

As for keeping them all yes yes...if I lived just a tad closer I would love one of Romeo and Juliet's babies, as I love pieds!

The baby in Bonnie and Clyde's box so far looks like your baby in the signature pikkie. Thankyou for your good wishes too. Ken is my reward after years of *** with a lunatic, abusive husband (now currently residing in Texas).....he is an angel on earth :angel1:

okay, well I want a Type 2 recessive pied, looks like pretty with yellow, on the face and body, can you cook that up (Laughing out loud) - lick a stamp on it and some how safely smuggle it through customs, and bring it to my front door. :D: can it be done.

I got to the letter "C" then my head started to swim and hurt...i think i'll have to go slow with this one..(Laughing out loud)

Have you heard of an austrlian saying "BUDGIE SMUGGLERS" ?? We could get a bloke with a pair of them and he can carry your birds to you I think :D Have fun and try this for "budgie smugglers"

:Dhttp://www.koalanet.com.au/australian-slang.html

cool site, keeping that one :D, and anything is certainly worth a try

OMG, you are so lucky. All of those birds. It must be so awesome watching them progress!

Oh wow, that's a lot of babies and eggs!!! Perfect timing for the move huh with all that cooking and growing in the nest box.. :D

Another baby born today to Hotlips (cinnamon wing blue) and Radar (grey green yellow face)....their first of seven eggs. All of the eight other feathered babies doing well but none out of the box yet. Some really beautiful colours developing in those eight. The white one in Bonnie and Clyde's box looks opaline too but wings are primarily white ( including wing tips ) apart from the patterning in a v shape like an opaline. Rest of the baby is bright sky blue. Another baby is a violet opaline. We have a normal blue. The two youngest are blues but seem lighter in wing markings than a normal ? One of Romeo and juliets recessive white pied babies is violet too and the other mauve. The yellow one a very beautiful shade of teal green with the yellow. I may not be able to do photos for a few days as we move and have to go on dialup and not broadband while we wait for the broadband connection. May be off air for a few days. Photos might be a surprise then ;)

Aww congatutions again ;) They sound great and I hope everything goes well. After all that planning it should. Look forward to seeing how much they have grown after you are all settled in.

Moving day tomorrow - are you all packed?

Settlement is after lunchtime so cant move anything till then. A few people helping us move Saturday. Lots of boxes packed and more to do. Ken has tomorrow off work so we can shift some gear in the afternoon. The worst thing is that since I shut my leadlight / stained glass business....I have all my workshop stuff to move too.......tons of it !! :D 500 odd sheets of glass and only I can shift the glass safely. Plus we are combining our lives and households so lots of things we have two or three of....fridges, dining sets, sofas, etc. Will have to take it and sort it out the other end. Is a nightmare....not an easy task. Plus birdies to move and two cats. FUN, FUN, FUN ;)

Oh DEAR! No yelling at Ken, okay! I'm stressed just thinking about it!

no photos, I mean I know you are going to be extremely BUSY, but that is just unacceptable ;). Seriously good luck!!

Congratulations on your engagement and all the fluffy baby budgies. ;) It really sounds like you have a very busy time ahead of you. I hope everything goes according to plan and you get situated again soon.

It's alright Lin...I never yell at anyone much less Ken. He is the most laid back, easygoing, sweet and loveable guy. If you yelled at him you would end up feeling just like you would if you'd kicked the cat !! :P If he sees me getting stressed or anxious he stops me for cuddle time so all will be well there. I have been up since 4 am cant sleep anymore....Ken is snoring like a chainsaw :P

Been up since 4 am and cant go back to sleep. Budgies are awake, so I may go and have coffee and watch them all....stress reliever :) Will take photos through the weekend, but cant do much with them till later. Cheers Karen

Wow, budgies, budgies, budgies!

I went dizzy with all the ausie terms, (Laughing out loud)

Oh to be honest, I didn't even know a lot of them were Aussie slang :P I thought everyone spoke like that! :P

okay, Lin me old cobber, mate, sheila.............lets just do nothing but talk aussie strine for a few days and puzzle the neck outa these other guys :P Just before I pack up the computer...........

Have decided to shift the birds last thing this afternoon and sleep over at the new place. Hoping all goes well. Shifting all my leadlight workshop stuff this afternoon. Tomorrow trucks and volunteers for moving household. I have given my boy a list of jobs in case he loses direction. He's wandering round like a lost soul already with a vague look on his face and I am the one who has been up since 4am :P My cat Ruski is getting inside everything Ken tries to shift :P:P

Oh the poor boy - a list :D Will he get marked on his performance :P:P:P

I know you won't get this now, but good luck, and I hope you remember to take your man to the new house :P

I'm not tuff on him Lin....he's just losing focus a bit....overwhelmed by all that we have to do. He'll be fine. We are both a pair of softies....never a harsh word has passed between us. I treasure him and won't forget to take him. He is what its all about :P One very sad thing is Hotlips and Radars baby born yesterday was found dead this morning. Fed well so I think Mummy squashed it during the early hours. :P Obviously I have yet to pack computer....) :P

Aww, I'm so sorry to hear that. Poor little mite.

But I am pleased to hear that you will be packing and taking Ken :P

hugs on the loss of your baby :(

Ken sounds awesome!!

as for the computer that is last (Laughing out loud) how would you keep us updated :) and we are your outlet :hap::
