I Love My New Cage!

Featured Replies

The new cage has arrived and is set up. I assembled it myself. AGH!

It is absolutely fabulous. Lots of room for many birds! The divider is a great feature. Two nice big doors. Lots of room for toys, perches, etc. inside. I still have to get some more of this stuff. My little cage was packed full and I was rotating stuff. I put it all in this cage, and it still looked bare.

Sorry, the picture is a little dark. IMG_9572Custom.jpg

I highly recommend this cage!

that is awesome Shawna, they are going to LOVE all the room, and the divider is awesome when you intro your 2 new budgies after quarantine period is over.

How was the business at birdcagemart.com...?

I LOVE IT!!!....nicest cage ever honestly!!!.....buy more! buy more! (budgues that is....THENBREED EM ALL!!!..hahah)

Well here are some updated pictures of the cage (just for you Kirby). It contains natural perches, rope perches, dowel perches, lots of feeding and water dishes, 5 cuttle/bone mineral combos, an iodine block, a hamster wheel, a couple of ladders, lots of toys (puchased and home made) toy/perch combos, and of course 8 darling budgies.

The entire cage (no divider in at this time)

The top half of the right side of the cage (where they congregate especially at night)

It was around $400 Canadian by the time I paid customs, brokerage etc. I got it from birdcagemart.com and I think it was around $219 and free shipping. Good deal for you US citizens. I'd have an outdoor aviary if it weren't so cold here. But since it is, this is the next best thing. And, I can wheel this cage outside in the summer.

WOW, Now THAT's the setup i want!! Amazing!!! lucky birdies. :D

very nice price too! congrats

I've purchased my birds at independent pet stores. 4 have come from Whiskers, 2 have come from Skeeters, and 2 came from Ruffins. The only "chain" around here is Pets Unlimited. I've looked on many occasions. I did buy my mom a budgie from there - looks just like Beka - but most times they don't have what I'm looking for. There is a sweet cream recessive pied with a grey belly in the Greenwood Pets Unlimited. I'm always tempted but was really trying not to buy anything until I could find my YF2 spangle. But I just couldn't resist the little Creamino. Called the petstore today and they said I can pick him up on Friday!!! Yay!

yay!!!....What about the DF spangle Shawna..please tell me you are getting him!

Wow...i dont have any of those store in Ontario other than a Ruffins in Georgetown...which is closer to toronto! ...(Laughing out loud) They did have a lot of older budgies...and lots of rodents!... Didnt really look tidy though...but nice stock! Whats Pets Unlimited?...is that like a Super Pet...or a Petco?...

I'm really tempted to get the DF Spangle or DEC. I'll see if he is still there on the weekend. Pets Unlimited I'm sure is like a Petco or SuperPet. There are lots of them in the province and 5 or 6 in the Halifax area.

wow..really!!!...cool!....Id love to see one...When i go down to visit uncle, aunts, and cousins in summer...ill stop by one, and check it out! How far away do you live from Clearwater Halifax?...i think thats where they live...

Yes, id say get the DFS....even if he ends up being a DEC...*** still make gorgeous babies Shawna!...Just think of the endless possibilites with the DFS.... :)

Well you asked for updated pics in another post Kirby so here they are. Cage now has most of the toys on either end or against sides so there is a nice open flight area for them. It seems to be a better layout. Even Big Bek is flying around more.

Here is a long shot from the side.

And zoomed in on the little cutie pies.

WOW!!!..thanks a lot Shawna!

Thats great that you have made it more 'budgie freindly'... :D

I love it!!! Keep it up! How long until Romeo and Jewel can meet the flock? Like 3 more weeks.... or 2.5?

Kirby :(

Congrats on the new cage Shawna. Love it!!! :) Great setup too! I'm sure they just love their new mansion. :(
