Posted February 13, 200619 yr Hi, Just wondering if there is such a thing as a budgie carrier for transport of a new budgie from sale point to home? If there is such a thing where would I get hold of one? What do people who show budgies transport there prize birds in to and from shows? Tks Alan :grbud:
February 13, 200619 yr Usually budgies for shows are transported in the show cages, I'm sure you've seen them, they are quite compact. I often take my show cage with me if I am planning on buying budgies. Pet shops often use a small box, and just punch holes in the box for air.
February 14, 200619 yr Hi Lin, Tks for the tip I have seen the show cages you mean. Where would I get hold of one of them? I have an idea about buying a couple of good quality budgies of breeders in the future and don't want to turn up with a shoe box for transport. I was wondering that there might be something smaller on the market as I wasn't sure with the movement in the car if I was by myself with using a cage shaped like a showcage. Tks Alan
February 14, 200619 yr Try a local budgie club. They should sell that kind of thing. I managed to pick mine up at a garage sale for $2. I'm kicking myself that I didn't pick more up at that time!
February 14, 200619 yr :(Laughing out loud): :(Laughing out loud): :(Laughing out loud): It has come in soooo handy, I really wish I had bought the lot. And all his nest boxes etc. They guy was moving into one of those retirement villages, and couldn't have a huge aviary there.
February 14, 200619 yr Allan you can get one from the pet store at Strathpine Shopping Centre across from EB Games. I got one call a pet Shuttle. Its okay. The Show cage I have I got Second hand for $15 from the Club. (Pine Rivers Budgie Club) They are $30 new.
February 15, 200619 yr Tks Daz, I have tomorrow of work so I will do a bit of scouting around starting with Strathpine shopping centre. Alan :budgiedance:
