Posted February 13, 200619 yr well i went for a drive yesterday into the country i had made arrangements with a breeder who i met at the local budgie show the day before ( he took out grand champion title ) and brought home a very pretty baby budgie, somehow i think its developed a chill over night as its droppings are liquid, he isnt sneezing and he also is not touching any of his food, i know my other budgie didnt eat anything either for the first 24 hours but im a little worried about his dropping being so liquid, i have tried looking it up on the net but cant find anything on how to treat it, i have heard some say you can treat their cold by giving them cold black tea to drink is that just a old wives tale or will that be beneficial many thanks Cheers Sarah
February 13, 200619 yr Sarah, Diarrhea could be cause by Stress... Change of location and people.... But I would have him checked by an Avian Vet... Take him straight away and let the vet know he has just been bought. He should do a swab for Megga, Canka, ,,,, and a few others...... I hope you have quarrantined him from your other birds..... Click the link in my signature to find out how to quarrentine properly and why....

February 13, 200619 yr I hope your budgie is doing well. It could be the stress of a new environment, but it is best to have him checked by an avian vet for sure. Looking forward to a picture of your budgie.
August 30, 201212 yr If the bird is a bacterial diarrhea due to infection, should use oxytetracycline. :happy-dancing: It says there: In budgerigars, diarrhea, and treatment (http://vetgunluk.com/blog/en/2012/08/30/in-budgerigars-diarrhea-and-treatment/)
