American Mottle

Featured Replies

It looks like a pied to me too. :) I don't think I have heard of an American Mottle mutation before. I wonder what the specs are?

**trots off to search for specs**

**EDIT**

**finds specs, trots back**

I found this on the same site you got the link from. There are more links at the bottom of the article too. Interesting find, lovey!

Oh wow that is so cool! Imagine that.. 'I don't fancy all the blue on me, I'll molt it out and get some white on me. :)' that is sooo cool!! :) Thanks for finding those. :D

Yep I've heard of this beforem mottled is talking aobut the wings and like the yellow face type two which add more yellow with each moult this gene adds more black feathers as the bird ages up.

I believe the are with recessive pieds. I would have to reread my book to see if I'm right with that or not :(Laughing out loud):

Hi again Guys and Lady's..

I love the Budgerigar galore Pictures Fantastic Very good birds fantastic

1. the actual descriptions are odd (as there is a standard description for each budgerigar particularley if you desire to show or have Exhibition standard budgerigars.)

2. ... including what they call in gallery 2 ( white wings are described as clearwings in the standards )

3. Again as stated before I have visited many avaries around Australia and have personally bred Violets ( which are a real Purple and light Mauve ) not darker blue or cobalts

4. The clearflighted bird in gallery 5 very nice ... I breed similar birds to yellow faced clearflighted with deep colour contrasts.

5. One of the most dissappointing times for me was breeding a sky / Violet with outstanding features and loosing it :rip: read My article and comments on Foster care ( Budgerigar Breeding > Breeders Chat... What Do You Do With The Babies )

6. And one of the doctors on their panel is predicting white faced greens 1997 ? well if they research the early English Budgerigars breeding Journals they describe these birds ( I think the journal I read was dated 1928...?????

:fear :hap: B) Regards Docca Downunder :D :ausb: :D  Wheres the talk of the allusive Black or Red budgie...
