Hope is the little girl that I found flying around my aviary awhile back...and I've now adopted her in as one of mine...

I thought that she's just a normal blue budgie, but than after a closer inspection, I've noticed a little white patch on her chest.. I thought she was molting at first, but now, I see white feathers, and not just fluffy down feathers there. Is this normal for a normal blue? Can normal budgie have a little white patch on their chest? or does this mean she's a pied of some sort? Oh all her other markings are the same as a normal budgie, just that white patch on her chest that stands out to me...

I've included a photo to show you what I mean. Thank you.

p.s... she's molting at the moment, that's why she looks so very scruffy!! :)

After her molt you might find that the white patch goes away. If not, she could be dominant pied. I'm thinking it will molt out though. We shall see! :)

Oh, another possibility is that it's the result of a poor diet. Once you've had her for a while and she's converted to a healthy diet her feathers may molt back into blueness.

Does she have a white spot on the back of her head.. or even a couple of white feathers?

That area are new feathers, which was why I thought that she was molting, but the new feathers came back white.

And no, no white spot or feathers anywhere else but that little patch. :)

It could possibly be bad diet, may be after the next molt the blue will come back??
