I have a male budgie, I know he's dominant pied but when I look at him I see opaline as well can dom. pied be opaline?

also he has patches of very deep purple coloration on the sides of his neck just below the cheek spots, would this mean any offspring he were to produce could possibly be darker(he's a sky blue)?

Thanks in advance -_-

unfortunately these are the best pics I have of him, I could try to catch him and take another picture but his hen is bred and I dont want to stress them any more than necessary

Ye he can be opaline as well as dominant pied.

Sky blue means he doesn't have any dark factor genes and can not give any to his babies to make them darker. What is mom?

the hen is a normal w/f blue, any idea what they'll produce?

she is a cutie :grbud:

Normal blues and dominant pieds is what you will get. The females will be opaline if your male is.

Your male looks like one of mine - Sky. She's in my signature and has dark cheek patches too. Oh, and she is also an opaline. I'm currently trying to work out if the color of her cheek patches mean anything. I'll let you know what I find out, if anything.

Thanks for the input, if everything goes well I'll let you all know what mutations I get from the pair, and maybe even find a way to get some pics.

:) nerwen you have great eyes  I mean to see the opaline... too small a photo for this oldy ;)

You flatter me Daz, I didn't see any either just going on what Dingo asked. If you look at my post again it says IF.
