sorry i cant help you but he is CUTE! is he yours?whats he called?

he is a pied...how old? Dominant or recessive you may not know until later to see if he develops an iris ring and/or a blue cere. Or maybe the experts know here. I am learning still here :).

Nerwen, I can't find the post about the white flashing on the cheeks does that mean he is a double factor or he is carrying a dominant gene, that Docca mentioned.

So don't take my word for anything yet :)

Adding to my post...

okay...found the post http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index.php?showtopic=8139

so this would indicate he would be a double dominate factor pied (correct?) oh but reading into the post more Daz has a recessive. :)

Are the splotchs on brown or grey or green? My monitor is playing games with me.

Yeah, he's one of mine. :) I don't have a name for him yet though. :)

okay, this little guy is about 8 months old. No iris ring, and cere is staying pinkish purpley. So I'm gathering that it's a recessive pied.

The splotches.. yes, that's what's getting me. I can't even tell the colour on it myself!! I think he's got some sort of cinnamon in him, may be, his wings marking is cinnamonish colour. The body colour.. well that's the bit that I'm wondering. he's kinda darkish olive green, brown colour. but then, I don't think it's that dark at all. :D

You know, I just noticed the two little spots on his throat. :) Can't say that I've ever noticed that before!! :D

Hmm well if someone could tell me what he is, that would be great!! I know the rest of my flock, it's this little one that's stumping me with his colours. :D Oh, and I don't know know his gene pool (meaning who the mom and dad are...), sorry. :D

Still bit confused on that bit myself :) But all recessive pied are double factor birds becuase you need two genes for it to show.

He is.....stunning. :)

I was wondering if my moniter was playing tricked becuase in two picture his body markings like almost brown. Are you sure he doesn't have red eyes at all?

If not I say cinnamon olive recessive pied. He coudl also be a grey-green the cinnamon gene causing the grey in the body to give a more brown wash with the green. Umm That seems to fit better.

hmm you know what, i'm not 100%sure about the eye colour. i'll check when i get home from work later. And may be see if i can get some more pics of him.

I had a look earlier when i got home. His eyes are dark brown, but if the sun gets a shine on it, it seems reddish colour. He hasn't got the red eyes like the albino or anything like that. Does that mean anything if his eyes is sort of reddish? and i think his colour is more grey than olive.

recessives have a red color kind of in the background of the eye, example when I took a picture of Pretty from the side and was asking the mutation, I remember I think it was Daz or Nerwen that said they could see the red in the eye which shows recessiveness.

so does that make him a recessive grey-green cinnamon pied?

That's what I would go for :D

If you say he looks more grey than olive.

lovey answered the bit with the eye. I only asked becuase if he had a bright red eye then mutation fallow would have been called into it.
