February 8, 200619 yr I could tell by their stance that they were the "show" budgies, but they didn't have the huge spots I'm used to seeing. It was sort of refreshing for me, actually, to see them looking more like...well...budgies. I don't mean that in a bad way, but you know what I mean?
February 25, 200619 yr hooray i finally get to see! the blue spangle first prize winner looks just like Lucky, except Lucky has cheek spots - but as far as i was aware Lucky isn't classed as a 'show' standard budgie. i was kind of expecting to see enormous heads and great big cheek spots, but yeah, i agree it is refreshing to see more 'budgie - like' budgies winning prizes. sometimes the great big versions look so... well... inbred i suppose. February 26, 200619 yr well its hard to explain, what i mean is they look so far removed from the original budgie. only traits like that can be achieved by at one point breeding birds with similar genes - so thats why i said inbred, although it is not entirely what i meant. it's late, okay! (Laughing out loud).
