Recipe Wanted Egg & Biscuit Homemade

Featured Replies

Could I have the recipe for egg and biscuit that I saw somewhere on this site once before. Mine dont much like the commercial variety I and think home made is best.

Here is a link with some great birdfood recipes too

When i make mine i get a hard boiled egg, bread crumbs, bird seed, and my birds favourite veggies.

You microwaves the egg shell for about 2 mins and smash that into a fine powder. You add that to mashed hard boiled egg. Sprinkle some bread crumbs over the top just enough to spread right through the mix. Add a tablespoon or two of the budgies seed mix and then mix some finely chopped veggies in as well and stir it all together.

Thanks everyone. I will make some today. Already know they hate peas...will try grated carrot. Tried em on snow pea sprouts and alfalfa sprouts today. They ate all the snow pea sprouts and chucked the alfalfa out.

she makes it look so good, I want to be a budgie, yes I am saving that it is very simple

okay....so now I know they wont eat peas or delicious homemade egg and biscuit. They dont like alfalfa sprouts either. Back to the drawing board !!

keep trying, 1 attempt is not good enough they are so stubborn. It took me weeks before Pretty tried anything good for himself. You can mix something they really love? Millet? I did that and that got him chowing down. Continue to offer it to them, you can even make a big batch and freeze in little containers, that is what I do for time saving.

All these recipes look so good. I'm going to try to make some now. My budgies don't want to eat things like egg, fruit, ...

I've bought them dried egg food with honey for budgies - quite expensive :P

Now in winter there are not many veg. to give them.

They love ice lettuce, cucumber, green pepper sometimes. But they don't want carrot, apple, broccoli,...

In summer I give them some grass from our garden (washed), is that okay for them? They love it!

I hope they will eat some of the food I'm going to make :P

add the stuff they don't touch with the stuff they do eat therefore it is there and you might find they may like it just stubborn to try it

I've just given them egg mixed with grated peppers, lettuce, crumbs and seeds. They are ignoring it, maybe later

keep it in there for the majority of the day, then give seed before bed (so you know they don't starve), Pretty will start to call for his seed  in the PM. You can also take the balls of millet, and mix in there for a start, Pretty is my millet boy I call him. He can't resist it.
