White Faced Green

okay first things first I really hope it was you that was taking about trying to get a bird this colour. IF not sorry I really suck at matching names to things.

But I was thinking about it the other day and wanted to know what plans you had to go about with this. What mutations where you thinking of using? Or where you simply going to breed normal green ones and then pair the ones with the palest yellow in them and so on and so forth? Is this how the blue came about int he breeers flock the first time around I wonder?

Or haven't you thought at all :D

 Hi Girls Ladys Guys ; I dont know who you were chatting to...but when I first joined I mentioned in the FLOCK THE WHITE FACED GREEN

( The Greatest Pet in the World........... Love this web site great to see so many interested lovers and or breeders of the Aussie wonder bird.

I grew up in the Australian outback where these wonderful little budgerigars and other birds survive the Harsh Australian outback. And like a lot of you have had a keen interest in breeding this wonderful bird.

I have met and bred with various birds from the likes of Scoble to SA finest even birds from Cairns Australia.

I have heard of the earlier breeders in Australia Like ( McKenzies LUTINOS and FULLY BLACK WINGED BIRDS ) even the earlier Budgerigars Breeders books showing DARK GREEN WITH WHITE FACED BIRDS.I then decided to study and listen to other breeders who have achieved great inroads with the Budgie. )

Its is interesting I read a lot of British Budgerigar Breeding Books 30 years ago some of which were 1928 -

Regards Docca ( Somewhere in someones back yard there are rare and unusual Budgerigars )

:D Yes I remember that and it was part of what made me ask. But (now I"m sure it's karen still) there was talk a while back of trying to get a green bird with a white face, before your wisdom came to us :P

Just my brain has been buzzing with budgies, when does it ever not I know : But it's extra strong right now I'm even dreaming of wierd coloured birds. (something like a blue greywing pied with semi spangled wings)

So Will I get an answer to this? Or are you keeping it all underwraps.

Dooca I know about spangles I'm planning later on to get some double factor ones in my flock.

you can also get double factored birds eg double factored yellow faced throwing white faced young...

double factored pieds can be a yellow body colour white face and green under the bib very beautiful..

I have clearwings and pieds ( no spangles which look like a reverse opaline ..)

personally I like a nice clean colour division ... I was just saying the research on double factors is in

1. double factors in type

2. double factors in colour and colour modifying factors (either penetrators like the darkening or the grey introducer )( or washes lighten or remove colour )

I was thinking along the lines of double factored dark green producing white faced young..

Hope this not to much Regards  Docca
