Please Help Sinatra Looks Like He Is Not Well

Well, please look at the following pics and let me know what you think. Sinatra's stomach looks really full, although I have to say a few hours ago it looked worse. Anyway, I don't see too much poop in the box. I have read that sometimes the mom takes it out but I want to make sure his "bowels" are okay. Look at the pics and let me know. Thanks. :D

He is 5 days old by the way. Ooooh, his eyes are opening!!! :(

It does look a bit distended in the side picture. If is normal colour or is it see through? like there is some air trapped inside.

I other can answer you soon too. Its been a while since I've had little babies and I never got that close to them at this age.

It doesn't look like it is see through. Hopefully he is okay, I will keep an eye on him for sure. He seems a little more sluggish than the baby that hatched after him, but maybe it is because he is so big, he has a lot more weight to pull around.

Mum does remove the poops, have a look near the nesting box, you should be able to see what she has removed

It might be an idea to give a vet a ring, some will talk to you over the phone.

Hi ,

we have the same problem. our baby budgie is 5 days old and the parents have previously layed only sterile eggs (15-20). just wanted to know how your baby's turned out and if it survived or not.

Hi Missy,

Yep, Sinatra is fine. His stomach was okay I guess. He is starting to get feathers now. Look in the pictures section, I will be posting some pics later today.

They are ugly little things at that age.... Looks like pop having a snooze....

But we love them -_-

Is it just me or can you see an egg tooth on his beak in the second picture?

You can Nerwen. How sweet :grbud:
