Posted January 20, 200619 yr Well I decided yesterday that I wanted more budgies, and I went out searching for them... and here are the results of my search.... Check out his cheek patches.. I think it's cool!! A white and a blue!! Sorry this picture is a bit blurry So now I have seven new budgies to play with!! The Yellowface blue in the very first picture, he's already very tame, and the grey spangled is fairly tame as well... The albino and the yellowface spangled is the wildest!! The other three are somewhere in between. oh and they are apparently between two to four months old. All came from the same breeder.

January 20, 200619 yr I didn't mean in a bad way. Not like "that is too many birds" just that it's a lot to buy at one time. It sounded bad but I didn't mean it that way, really. I probably should have left the "though" off the end.

January 20, 200619 yr Very pretty.. Did you get them all at the same place? I would love to have the grey one.. what an attitude he has. I really like the yellowface spangle as well.
January 21, 200619 yr You found Cloud's twin!!!! See??? He's the one in the front! They are all beautiflu - I love the other blue pied you have with one white and one blue cheek flash...my Cloud's are like that too! Lucky you to be able to add to your flock!
January 21, 200619 yr Oh lucky you. If I were to buy that many birds it would cost me about $280 Canadian dollars - they are about $40 each at a petstore. I hope to increase my flock over time, but will need to build a big indoor cage. Are you planning on breeding? You will probably have a lot of clutch mates in that lot? They are beautifu! Congrats.
January 21, 200619 yr Author Thanks guys... They are very settled already being the second day here. They were chirping away and playing with their toys today in their isolation room. So cute. I did get them from the same breeders, and non of them are clutch mate. It doesn't really matter anyway, I am not planning on breeding. The breeder I got them from had like 50 pairs breeding, and also quite a few resting. She had so many babies!! I had a very very hard time choosing, and as you can see from the result, I couldn't. I was suppose to only get three!! but it became seven!! (Laughing out loud) Oh, yeah, I've having trouble naming them too!! any ideas??
January 21, 200619 yr Are they all caged together or did you have to split them up into smaller groups for caging? I can't imagine how I'd fit enough cages for seven more birds!! I have two huge ones under the futon but where to put them would be beyond me. (Laughing out loud).
January 21, 200619 yr Author Currently they are being caged together in an okay sized cage. But this is the cage I use for all my quarantine isolation period. They seems to be happy together in there. I haven't heard any major quarel in there yet. Just the occasional 'get away from me' chirp that's about it. They seems to like to huddle together on the perch. Actually the blue pied with the different cheek flash likes to step on the other ones while they are huddle together and stand on top.. you know it's almost like he's trying to start a one of those pyramid thing the people build by kneeling on someone else's back. It's cute. Should I cage them seperately? Just wondering if that would be better. I must say that the cage aren't that great for size for 7 birds, but this is of course only temporary until the quarantine is up. and I'll be letting them out a bit everyday to stretch their wings in their room, so they'll be able to stretch and exercise then I guess...
January 21, 200619 yr If you could split them up into a few cages that would probably be best as far as space goes. Then again, it depends on the sizes of the cages I guess. After quarantine what size cage are they going into? Or will it be an aviary? I'm sure they'll be okay in smaller accomodations until then. What size is the cage they're in now? Out time definitely helps.
January 21, 200619 yr Author Well most likely, 6 of them will go into the aviary, and the yellowface blue will stay indoor as a pet after the quarantine. they are currently in 18x15x22 cage. Like I said pretty small for 7 birds. But I thought since it's going to be a short period, may be it's okay. I just don't want to go out and get another cage to then have that sit there and take up space!! Just like the two you have under your futon!! (Laughing out loud)... it'll just be a waste...

Actually there's only two spangled... there are two pieds... one albino... one creamino or is that lutino?... and a normal yellowface. I do love those spangled.. I did wanted to get an opaline, but didn't see any there that I'd like.

I started off with two as well... then I added five more... then three more... then one more... and now... seven more!!! hmmm now I'm up to 18... I think i'll be stopping now.. hehehe... I wonder how long before I get more...
