Posted January 19, 200619 yr I have a cobalt pied. its a male( im almost positive) and has iris rings, like a dominant is supposed to but has a dark pinkish, very, very little purplish cere, like, i guess a ressesive male would have. its about 9 to 10 months and does bobbing of head, and makes 90 percent of noise. so i was wondering if its dominant or ressesive pied or even male because of cere, before i think of breeding.please help!
January 19, 200619 yr If it is a pied male with an irus ring it would be dominant. Can you post a picture?
January 20, 200619 yr I dont have a digital camera but if it is a male dominant, should it have a pink cere?
January 20, 200619 yr yes it if it is a double factor dominate pied Edited January 20, 200619 yr by lovey
January 20, 200619 yr From what I understand, double factors can occasionally have blue ceres. Correct me if I'm wrong, experts. :ausb: It does sound like you've got a double factor dominant pied though, since he's got a pink cere -and- iris rings.
January 20, 200619 yr I think that all male double factor dominant pieds have blue ceres at maturity.
