My avery has a dirt floor, and its starting to pong, I spread straw over the floor, which is rakeed out every 3-4 weeks, I want to concrete, but at the moment cant afford it, what can I do to improve the health of the avery, I'm concerned about disease. is there something that I can spray the base with? at the moment, I raked out the old straw and have not yet spread new straw, I was hoping to work out what I can do about the smell before I put new bedding in, the smell is in the ground not the bedding.

Buy some second hand slabs - the kind footpaths are made of. Councils sell them off cheap. Or lay some second hand bricks. Or, and this is temporary, put a new layer of sand over the smelly stuff

I'm saving to buy some pavers, should have them in a month or so, as I said, I'm concerned about disease, I might move the avery over, let the ground dry out, rake and by then hopefully be able to buy the pavers.

You could just use sand. That's what i use and it's really easy to sweep all the seed and poo away and when the dirt starts showing through it's cheap to just go and get more sand.
