Posted January 11, 200619 yr I have 6 birds who are all happy living together, 3 male 3 female. I want to breed these birds but not sure if I should put nesting box's in the cage or seperate them into 3 different cages? I would hate for fighting to happen. The birds are 15 month old but would wait until spring. What would be the best thing. Also if I did seperate them for the breeding can I put them back in the big cage together after they have raised their little ones? Lynda
January 12, 200619 yr I would seperate them into three different breeding cages. It seems to be safest that way. Once they have finished raising their young, they should be fine in the big aviary again.
January 12, 200619 yr If I was you I would use seperate cages and yes they will be fine in the aviary afterwards together again If they are happy together now there's no reason why they won't after breeding and raising their clutches.
January 12, 200619 yr Definately seperate, don't breed in the aviary, I have just had 2 budgies orphaned from making that mistake. They should be happy together once all their hormones have settled down again
