Posted January 10, 200619 yr Blueys vet appointment finally arrived after a long wait. The vet has checked his lump and said that its not really that big. Still there though He said that its soft which is a good thing - better than a hard lump. He also said that it isnt in his abdomen its further up so theres no risk of it squishing his precious little organs. He was so scared bless him he hates being held I asked him also why his cere has changed colour and he said that it could be just a change with his age or a testicular tumour I forgot to ask if there was any treatment he could have (maybe someone can advise me) so I might ring him to check. He said in general hes a healthy active happy little birdy and to keep on feeding him the veggies. He said if the lump gets bigger or comes through his feathers to take him back to consider surgery :fear which I think is a big risk on such a little creature. I bought him a new cage on my way home for being so brave
January 11, 200619 yr :ausb: Could be a lipoma (benign fleshy tumour - soft), 2 of my budgies have them, one for about 6 years. :grbud:
January 11, 200619 yr okay, so that explains the other post. Did you inquire more about how this will affect him?
January 11, 200619 yr Sorry I forgot to mention it is a lipoma. I forgot to ask the vet what to do if hes got a testicular tumour - there was so many questions I wanted to ask him as I had waited so long to see him
January 11, 200619 yr No he didnt mention anything about the possibility of a nutritional disorder. Could this be causing a problem with his cere? I will try to get a picture of his new cage later on.
