Posted January 2, 200619 yr I was changing around my playpen, and have been using 'liquid nails' to hold pieces of dowel and wood in place. I couldn't find anything on the container, or anything on the web that has said that this is poisonous to animals or people, so was wondering if anyone knew whether it was? Thanks
January 2, 200619 yr Extremely flammable, Harmful or fatal if swallowed. Vapors may cause flash fire. May cause central nervous system effects including dizziness, headache or nausea. Eye, skin and respiratory tract irritant. Use only with adequate ventilation. Keep out of reach of children. http://householdproducts.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-b...nds&id=13017002 If that's the same thing you're talking about it doesn't sound at all good to use on budgie toys/gyms.
January 2, 200619 yr Holy moly! That's the same sort of stuff, but not manufactured by the same company, mine is 'selleys liquid nails'. It doesn't have any warnings on the bottle. I found a small article on a website that talked about using it around birds - The sliding door allows easy and convenient access to the entire nest cavity. Bird toeholds are created with beads of Liquid Nails adhesive which adhere very well to the PVC. Liquid Nails is also used to seal off the bottom of the nest cavity for sanitary purposes. With the large roof overhang, the cavity stays bone dry. http://nabluebirdsociety.org/media.nablueb...a/navratil2.htm If it's the same as the other stuff, then I'm worried!
January 2, 200619 yr oh I dont know about using Liquid Nails. Sounds dangerous to me. Ill see what I can find.
