to make sure your little ones are locked up or not in the room

1. the fumes can be toxic

2. if they land on the stove it can be a serious injury or death

Just wanted to throw that out, been thinking about that since tips have been thrown out there about safety.

Happy New Year Everyone!

:D Hi Lovey, from the lack of responses I would guess that everybody is being responsible which is a good thing, your job is done!! :ausb:

....lol Phoebe I think everyone has run in and turned off the stoves. :ausb:

thanks you 2, I sure hope so. I did a self clean on the oven a couple days ago, and Pretty lived in my son's bedroom for the night. Aaron loved it :(.

Just to add to this...

If anyone in your family receives non-stick cookware for Christmas (like my MOTHER) tell them to take it back and trade it for something that won't distribute toxic fumes in the air and kill your birds. :(

Terri, what would be alternatives?

Stainless steel is the most common alternative. I'm not sure of the others, I'll have to look it up but hopefully there will be more out there soon. Dupont is really getting nailed for the problems resulting from Teflon, not just with birds but with people getting sick as well.

it seems that the easier something is the more harm it causes, the old days (Laughing out loud) as we call them were much healthier days for our enviroment in and our of our homes. The longer time it takes the better it really is, we just need to have patience.
