Posted December 20, 200519 yr I decided to try some breeding over christmas. Found a place that is cooler that the aviary. I set two pairs, Huey and Ash, and Greeny and Duey. Huey as you may know "could" be a female. Well after 9 days. Greeny and Duey has an egg. Huey and Ash are still in the throws of courtship but........Huey dosn't seem interested in the nest box.......What to Do what to Do?????? I am going to wait another 12 days and if no eggs it's back to the hot aviary for them. I have tried Huey with Green (two females) no good. Ash Duey and Huey. (left to right) Photo taken 6 months ago. Greeny
December 20, 200519 yr aww poor daz I think we need a new picture to have a lookie at Huey again. It might simply be down to getting to know the other. If they are intot he courtship stages the signs look good.
December 20, 200519 yr Author aww poor daz I think we need a new picture to have a lookie at Huey again. It might simply be down to getting to know the other. If they are in to the courtship stages the signs look good. Well thats the funny bit Nerwen. The two of them have been inseparible since Cinnamon died. They don't leave each other alone. kissing and calling. So when I put them in the box I thought they would have no problems. They are still Kissing and Calling and preening it's just the next step. Well maybe it's a bit early. Hope fully by Christmas there might be an egg?
December 20, 200519 yr Sounds a bit like Tootie and Marine, I still don't think he fully understand what he is meant to be doing, they don't seemed to have moved closer at all, but I hope that changes in the new year when I put them in the breeding cage again. December 30, 200519 yr it's your hen that is cinnamon so no possible cinnamon in the clutch unless the male is split to it. Only why to find that out is to find a cinnamon in the clutch The male offspring will be split for cinnamon.
