hi i have my best hen with my 6yr old male budgie she seems ready and her cere is brown she is acepting food from the 6yr old male but there is no mating dancing or feather cleaning yet. is this cause the male is too old ?

It could be. I read somewhere that you shouldn't breed a budgie that you've had for a long time without breeding it. (2 years or something)

Also, the birds might not like each other enough to want to mate.

i have bread birds from the first time from 3 years but i do think the male could be to old

I'm not sure whether six is too old or not. My male began breeding at three. Maybe fertility might be a little lower as they age, but since they can live to be 15 or so, 6 doesn't seem especially old to me.

in exhibition terms 6 is an oap where 8to 9 is ancient,
