Good news, i got my new cage today, its great, ive got a link if youi want to see it http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1, anyway, they went in together, went to feed then he started to feed her, ive been watching them nearly all night, and about 20 minutes ago he fed her again, the problem is, after he feeds her nothing happens, they just go back to sitting on the perch together snuggled up together. i know i should be happy but it doesnt seem right shouldnt they be preening each other, call me paranoid but thats me any opinions?

i thought i would show you some pics anyway as i just figured out how to download them from my phone :D

sorry about the long post :D

i have been watching them nearly all day today, he is extremly hyper jumping from perch to perch and she seems to want to destroy everthing, he has also been feeding her, but still they dont groom each other, what does this mean, any ideas? :P

I must admit that yes preening is probably one of the most obvious ways for a bird to let another bird know that they love them, however for the hen to accept being fed is also a strong bonding activity so i would think your birds are just bonding in their own way. :D Maybe you want it too much.....chill out and let them get on with it and when you least expect it and aren't really even thinking about it.....it will happen.... :)

okay thanks, i will let them do their own thing and see the outcome, i really hope it happens though thanks for all the help.

Well it's been 8 days. Don't worry. it can take between 11 and 18 days for them to settle down.

I have two pairs breeding at the moment.

Closer Look.

Both Pairs have been set on the 10th Dec. One pair has their first egg and the other have just started to investigate the nest box.

Some areslower than some.

thanks, everyone, like you said i think i need to chill out a bit. she is also showing some interest in the nest box now poking her head in and looking

Then things are moving well, once she realised that that strange box is a perfect spot to nest in she will warm up even more to the male, hen like to have a spot to lay eggs before any mating.

its only breif looks in but its progress like you say, another thing i noticed was when they go to sleep they are right next to each other. it is soo cute :fear

update: he is really interested in breeding he is touching her back with his beak gently, and is getting extremly close to her

good to hear and my freckle took i think a week of peakinginto the box to then want to start breeding.

thanks, i hope i will soon hear the patter of little tinny budgie feet soon :D
