Posted November 30, 200519 yr i got a budgie from a friend (i now have seven) some time ago and only just recently discovered that she was covered in blood! i'm afraid to take a picture but she's got blood on her leg (it looks like her middle toe on her left foot has been bitten off) and she's got dried blood speckled over her body. She's also having trouble standing and kind of sticks her left wing out. We're not sure how much a vet can do, or if it's serious. We're pretty sure that she was attacked and we have thoughts of it being Leela but we're not 100% sure What should I do? She's really really scrawny making it easy for her to be picked on. Help! :excl: L&L
November 30, 200519 yr Get this bird to a vet, like NOW! Please! It is badly injured and traumatised from what you have said. An avian vet is best, but if thats not possible, just get it the first vet that will see you. In fact, I wouldnt even make an appointment, I dash that bird in so fast my feet wouldnt touch the floor. Please get this bird help now!
December 2, 200519 yr I would definately take her to a vet...she would be in a lot of pain and the vet can help!
December 2, 200519 yr The vet will be able to clean her up and treat her for any possible infections as well as give you tips on how to prevent this sort of thing happening again. Seeing a vet would definitely be the best thing to do. I hope she's alright.
December 2, 200519 yr vet and possibly put her in a cage on her own next to the others till she recovers and to stop further injurys
