Featured Replies

Hi,

I have 4 chicks, now 4 weeks onld and doing well.

Some questions.

1. When can I handle the chicks. To tme on. (so its sits on my wifes finger  )

2. When they leave the nest should I remove the male or eventually thefemaile.

Any advice appreciated.

thanks

the male will contiue to feed the young when they leave the nest and should be left with the young till you can see them feeding you should supply a box of about 3.5 inches high so the young can hide underneath if the parents attack them once they have all left the nest i would remove the female if you dont want them to breed again or let her lay the next clutch and remove the eggs remove the chicks once they are feeding them selves

okay Thanks.

The male does not seem to be feeding them (much).

He seems more interested in sitting there chirping loudly.

Any advice?

He does feed them sometimes though.

the **** willtake over the feeding once they have left the nest
