I would love to know how many times a day should I be feeding baby budgies that are about 2-3 weeks old?? ( they have pin feathers and down)

I think by the 3 week mark you want to drop of with the hand feeding and get them interested in feeding themselves.

Lin, Bea...Help us here!

Yes, you should be providing some food that's easy to eat so that they can feed themselves. But still be handfeeding, as they can't eat enough for themselves til about week 4 or 5. Bea knows way more than me about what types. Over to you Bea!

Were they rejected by the parents?

I am feeding mine every three to four hours between 0700 and midnight.I also feed him once about 330am.He will be 4 weeks old in 4 days time.He is completely spoilt. :D:wub:

Hi i hand reared three baby budgies. I used a crop needle then at your budgies age i moved onto a syringe with ground up seed and hand rearing formula. I used to put the seed in a blender and blow off the husks then mix with the hand rearing food and warm water then put into a syringe and let the bird take it out of the end of the syringe.

I found that if i feed and older chick and then put it in with the youngest chick it would share it's food and regurgetate what i had given it. this made life easier for the youngest chick.

Apart from being smaller than other birds my youngest is a female and very tame now. She is starting tocatch up with her size and it is great to see here so well.

Hope this helps you.

Bit late but i'm pretty sure it's every 3 hours between 6am and 11pm with one night feed. :P
